The Confessions of a Direct Navigator

Written by Jason Barrett.  Posted under Domaining

OK, I admit it. I am a direct navigator. I’m one of the people that the domaining industry loves to serve. Heck, that’s one of the reasons I know this game works. If I do it, then there must be others.

Well the point in me telling you any of this is because I was trying to go to DNForum tonight and was clearly unsuccessful on my first attempt. I typed dnforums in the URL bar and then hit CTRL + Enter (that fills in the http://www. and .com for those of you who don’t know). I was then presented with a parked domain owned by Adam Dicker. Adam appears to have figured out the domain game and he is playing it against one of our own.

Now I don’t know how much traffic Adam is pulling down from this endeavor, but I welcome Adam’s comments if he is so inclined to give them. I’m guessing he is going to keep that little number to himself. Anyway, for those of you who want to see some of this stuff in action just take a look at Adam’s site. The rest of you should head on over to DNForum like me.

Here’s a link for those of you who prefer to keep your fingers on your mouse.

The only flaw in this setup that Adam Dicker is the one who owns and operates DNForum.com, so it should probably be redirect instead.

I see. The WHOIS on DNForum is private, whereas DNForums is not, so I assumed we were talking about two different people. I wonder why he has chosen parking over redirection. Interesting.

Adam, I don’t suppose you drop by NameBait do you? If so, why parking and not redirection?
